Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro INT'L Airport (JRO)

Depart from your hometown to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Upon arrival, one of our safari representatives will be there to pick you and transfer you to your booked lodge. Your safari begins with a 3-hour transfer to the quaint town of Mto wa Mbu, where relaxation and rejuvenation await. He will ensure a swift check-in at the lodge, allowing you to unwind and relax tonight.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

Right after a nourishing breakfast, you leave Lake Manyara National Park for an immersive game-viewing drive. Nestled in the Great Rift Valley, south of Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, lies Tanzania’s best-kept secret – the Lake Manyara. Renowned for its elusive tree-climbing lions, the park’s open plains invite encounters with herds of elephants, buffalo, antelope, and graceful Masai giraffes. Bird enthusiasts will find delight in the park’s diverse avian population, with over 400 recorded species. Marvel at hippos resting on the lake’s banks and a mesmerizing array of flamingoes, imparting a vivid pink hue to the alkaline waters.

As the day gracefully transitions into evening, drive to Karatu, having savored the magic of Lake Manyara, delight in a delicious meal at the lodge and enjoy a peaceful nightx.

Day 3 & 4: Serengeti National Park

Awaken to the enchanting anticipation of Serengeti’s endless plains. The third day unfolds with a captivating game-viewing drive en route to this extraordinary destination. The fourth day invites you to embrace the full spectrum of wonders that Serengeti has to offer.

Renowned for its impressive population of leopard, cheetah, and lion, the Serengeti, meaning “Endless Plains,” encapsulates the soul of its extraordinary landscape. Here, the grandeur unfolds as the site of the world’s most spectacular annual overland migration, a breathtaking journey spanning over 800 kilometers.

Depending on the time of year, you will have a the opportunity to witness the theater of nature, where over a million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras, and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles, alongside various antelope species, gracefully traverse the endless plains. The Serengeti’s grandeur, enriched by the perpetual dance of predators and prey, paints an unforgettable safari canvas.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After a delightful breakfast, a scenic half-day game-viewing drive in Serengeti awaits, accompanied by a sumptuous lunch box en route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Arriving in Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you stop for a few minutes at the viewpoint to reward yourself with a breathtaking vista of the crater. From this elevated vantage point, the vast expanse of the caldera unfolds before your eyes, reducing even the mighty elephants to mere specks in the landscape. After capturing a few moments and savoring the breathtaking views, proceed to your pre-booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

Following an early morning breakfast, you descend nearly 2,000 feet down into the crater with the hope to spot some, if not all, of the Big Five. Within this vast caldera lies every type of ecosystem imaginable, from riverine forests to open plains and freshwater lakes, making it a haven for a plethora of wildlife as well as abundant avian species. Moreover, the Crater provides a rare window to a stunning backdrop for viewing a glut of wildlife, especially lion, elephant and highly endangered black rhino.

The most commonly spotted animals are lion, wildebeest, zebra, eland, bushbuck, cheetah, jackal, buffalo, Grant’s gazelle, Thompson’s gazelle and and the elusive black rhinoceros. Delight in a picnic lunch amidst this natural wonder, and as the afternoon sun wanes, ascend the crater walls, and drive to your lodge in Karatu, where a tranquil evening awaits, providing the perfect backdrop for reflection on the day’s extraordinary encounters with Tanzania’s wildlife.

Day 7: Karatu then Back to Arusha

As your Tanzanian odyssey draws to a close, embrace the tranquility of your final morning at the lodge in Karatu while relishing a delectable breakfast. As you drive through Mto wa Mbu on your journey back to Arusha, a glimpse of local life paints a vibrant tapestry of culture.

Depending on your flight schedule, a private transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport will seamlessly connect you with your return flight home or other destinations after your arrival in Arusha.
