A
Tailor-Made Serengeti Luxury Safari doesn't come with a fixed
itinerary. The fact is that you can choose a package, pick the dates, the
number of nights, where you sleep and your pace. For instance, a standard
package hands you a route and a shared vehicle. A bespoke trip starts with
questions instead: what do you want to see, who's coming, and how do you like
your days to go? Then comes the real work, which is three choices: which part
of the Serengeti,
where you stay, and what you do each day. We'll take them one at a time. Think
of this as a planning guide, not a brochure.
It's
a trip built around you, not picked off a shelf. Dates, nights, areas, camps,
vehicle, guide, activities, transfers, pace: all of it can change, and you can
add other Tanzania stops. If the itinerary existed before anyone asked what you
want, it isn't tailor-made.
For
control, mostly. You can decide when to leave camp, how long to sit with a lion
that's doing nothing much, and where you sleep. Photographers get time to set
up a shot. Families can cut a drive short when a child has had enough, and
couples can slow right down. It suits people with few days, clear interests, or
a group that wants different things.

Conditions
shift by area and by year, so take this as a rough guide:
The
Great Migration doesn't happen in one place. This is because, the herds
follow the rain, and the rain changes every year. Ask where they're likely to
be on your dates, and be wary of anyone who promises a river crossing.
No
area guarantees any sighting.

An
expensive room is the easy part. A Private Tanzania Safari Vehicle,
a guide with years behind them, good food, smooth transfers, privacy and a camp
in the right spot all count, and so do small things, like a hot drink waiting
before the morning drive. A luxury lodge and a Tailor-Made Serengeti Luxury
Safari are not the same thing. You can have the first without the second.
Which
one fits depends on the experience you want, the area and your dates.

Go
private if you can. You pick the departure time, stop where you like and change
the route when something turns up. There's more space too, good for
photographers and families. On the other hand, a shared vehicle costs less and
runs to a set schedule. For a tailor-made trip, though, private is what gives
you room to change the plan.
Your
Tanzania Travel
Guide shapes the trip more than the lodge does. A good one tracks
animals, reads behaviour, knows the land, and parks the vehicle where your
photos will work. They’ll keep you safe and rewrite the day when the bush does
something new. It’s important to ask who your guide will be.
The
exact schedule depends on the camp, park rules and what you prefer.
Not
every activity is available everywhere. Options include:

The
Serengeti
with Ngorongoro or Tarangire is the usual pairing. Zanzibar gives you a beach
ending, plus one more flight. Kilimanjaro is a big add-on, since the climb
takes several days. The south brings a different landscape and more flights. However,
every stop costs travel time, so you get fewer days with the animals. We'd
rather see people do less, properly.
Ask
these questions:
Talk
to our Safari Team. We'll build an Tanzania Safari Itinerary around the areas, camps and
experiences you want.
A
trip designed around your dates, interests and pace, not a fixed package.
Three
to five nights suits most people. Add more to cover several areas.
It
depends. June to October is mostly dry, and January and February suit calving.
Pick
by month and interest. Central suits most trips, the south suits calving, the
north suits crossings.
If
you want flexibility or photography time, yes.
